Annual General Meeting Summary

The Annual General Meeting of the Malahide Chamber of Commerce took place on Tuesday, 8th April 2025, at the Grand Hotel, Malahide. The following items were addressed:

1. Approval of Previous Minutes
   The minutes from the previous AGM were taken as read and approved.
2. Treasurer’s Report
   Andrew Rittweger presented the Treasurer’s Report, including the accounts and balance sheet for the past year. The financial statements were certified by Searing Point Accountants and formally approved by the committee.
3. Election of Officers and Committee Members
   The 2025 Committee was confirmed as follows:
   • President: Deirdre Rochford
   • Vice President: Ernie Brenner
   • Treasurer: Andrew Rittweger
   • Secretary: Nur Aydin
   • Committee Members:
     • Barry Gibney
     • Amy Irwin
     • Mark Smithers
     • Katrin Dreyer-Gibney
     • Sibeal Hurley
     • Derek Fowler
4. Review of Recent Activities and Upcoming Events
   Highlights from recent successful events, including the Training Days for local businesses and The Malahide Chamber of Commerce Business Awards, were shared. Upcoming initiatives were discussed, such as:
   • Primary Schools’ Art Competition
   • Fundraising Golf Competition
   • Community Volunteering Day
   • Annual Summer BBQ
5. Membership Update
   A brief update on current membership figures and growth was provided.
6. Long-Term Projects
   The Chamber is continuing its commitment to local development through two key initiatives:
   • The Sustainability Masterplan
   • Malahide as a Heritage Village and possible funding under shop front schemes.
